I have always been very active. I worked on my aunt and uncle's farm for many years doing odd jobs. I'm a proficient horseback rider, which served me well when I filmed a children's show about horses and in my role as Éomer in Lord of the Rings. In addition, I also enjoy indoor rock climbing and riding my hog.

Have a black lab named Ire (pronounced eye-ree) after a Bob Marley song (from the album Uprising).

Hobbies include fishing, surfing, golf, and gardening.
